Preordained arrival
lifted from the soil
A path is etched into the clay
The air is thick
it can shield you from
the hanging outstretched arms
Dig deep
Eyes back
Red haze
Blood black
Side by side
standing hand in hand
Mirrored, anamorphic
they line the way
Mountain of black stones
Calling out
Remove yourself
Be still and breathe it in
Dig deep
Eyes back
Red haze
Blood black
Enter
Transform
Reborn
Open up
Swallow yourself
Turn the sky
upside down
Pull the ground
to the clouds
Day to night
Insides are outside
Brought to life
by the suffering sky
Clay begins to melt and pool
and soon it will envelop you
Wading through a thickening sea
a color wheel kaleidoscope
Transform
Reborn
Extracted from the earth
Wrapped in gauze
No one can see me now
Take control
Remove myself
Be still and breathe it in
Release your fears
Separate from the world you made
The outstretched arms
free of scars
if you let it go
I want to break
This endless chain
The writhing end
of the suffering sky
about
Preordained arrival

I have been hooked since the first time I heard Asleep next to Science. My brother recommended I check them out knowing that I would probably like the album. I can say that I didn't like it, I fucking lived it. I thought all 9 songs were perfect and Sayer of the law .... track 1 caught my attention immediately, reading the lyrics made me love the band even more, lyrics are very important to me, maybe because I write words and I do not know how to write music, anyhow, they were more then unique, they were brilliant, and unlike anything else I had heard before. I have been looking for something else by the band for years, I was definitely under the impression that I wouldn't hear anything else because it seemed as though this unbelievably band just disappeared.
I can say finding this album although I wish there were more was obviously was very exciting for me. I love both tracks as I love the whole album before. they have 11 songs I know of, and every one is fantastic, I really hope to hear a full length album soon... I would say on a scale from one to ten this is a ten as is their first. I'm surprised that few know about them, they may be too evolved for the masses .
I am psyched that they are not done, it would be tragic as far as art goes.

This is full of the proggy weirdness that they'd become known for, but with a helping of raw energy that isn't as present on later records. Very interesting sound. cjeasley
